Fresh almond aroma, dark chocolate in the cup and an almond and cocoa aftertaste.

Nutty aroma, fresh and intense. In the flavor, the dark chocolate component contributes body and tactile sensations that are also reflected in the full-bodied taste. It leaves a persistent aftertaste of fresh almond and cocoa.
The cultivations are located in the volcanic area of Santa Rosa, between 1300 and 1700 m a.s.l., close to the Atitlán lake. Thanks to the microclimate of the lake, the high altitude and the volcanic soil, the coffee develops an aromatic profile with high acidity, delicate floral aromas and full body. This geographical area belongs to a mountain chain that constitutes an important ecological corridor in Guatemala. Moreover, thanks to the presence of the forest and plants that create shade, the nitrogen in the atmosphere is fixed in the soil, allowing a sustainable and productive agriculture. The cultivations, placed in shady areas, are managed by small farmers, using the washed method.
Sometimes you can find an acronym near to the name of this coffee. The denominations “SHB” (Strictly Hard Bean) or SHG (Strictly High Grown) indicate specifically that the coffee beans have been cultivated at an altitude over 1350 m a.s.l.
